Clean the surface from dirt and remove loose paint flakes. Sand table surface with medium sandpaper. If the industrial console table is rusty, remove rust with a brush, sandpaper or acid solvent. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth to remove dust from sandpaper. Let dry. If the table is made of galvanized metal, clean the surface with a lacquer or solvent that is designed to remove oil lining. Galvanized metal is metal plated with a thin layer of zinc. This coating prevents corrosion, but must be removed to allow the new color to attach.
Apply the primer to the industrial console table. Select the appropriate metal primer type based on whether the table is rusty or has a clean surface. If the table is made of a ferrous metal (containing iron), it will roast. The primer inhibits corrosion. If you are not sure what type of metal the table is made of, test the surface with a magnet. If a magnet is pulled to the table, it is made of iron metal. Spray the table with bronze metallic paint. Allow to dry according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
